Giving AAC a Voice in IEPs
Friday, October 19, 2007 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
When writing IEP goals for students who use AAC, we may not take into account the big picture. What skills do we want to build over time and how will we build them throughout the school day? The goal of AAC is the best communication possible. Routine performance monitoring can get us from baseline to our end goal: helping us make data-driven decisions about the AAC system, its use, IEP planning, and documenting progress. This presentation will cover the steps that can turn performance reporting into a formative assessment tool that guides our interventions and documents our progress.
